Apex Omnivore

“I’ll call if I break a leg or get eaten by a bear.”
“Play like a rock.”
“No, if a bear starts eating you.”
I thought for a moment before replying. “Do they have screaming, sobbing rocks, ’cause that’s probably what I’ll be doing if a bear is gnawing my arm off.”
“It would be difficult to just lay there and be eaten alive, huh?”
“Ya think?”

The bear family given here refers primarily to the large bears such as black bears, brown bears or polar bears. Bears are extremely strong and a successful swipe can mean death. The speed of a bear is also often underestimated, as it can briefly reach speeds of up to 60 km/h (37mph) in open country. Despite their weight of up to 700 kg (1,543.24lb) and more, bears are also excellent at climbing trees.

Pin Down: Bears can clutch their prey, pinning them down.
